J.O.E. has been pretty scattered lately. We had a great service yesterday, and hopefully we can get the ball rolling again. We seem to be constantly starting over, but it is still worth the effort, as we saw yesterday. The Lord really blessed us and I know that there is a reason why He still lets us do this ministry. While the future of J.O.E. may be hard to see, I know that there is a greater purpose and have faith that one day we will see the fruit of our labor. Patience has never been one of my strengths, so keep us in your prayers. The love and kind words of friends (old and new) has been a big part of what keeps us going. We love and pray for all of you.

Bears hibernate in Winter, and apparently so do I (lol). J.O.E. has been steadily working on the CD project and practicing regularly, but that's about it. Nothing very exciting going on, lately. Hopefully , as Spring approaches, things will start to liven up. As far as the CD goes, we are going to redo some of the drum parts where the cymbals were too loud, and the drums not loud enough. I'm not sure how many more times I can listen to these same songs without going crazy, but it doesn't seem like many.

We had a ball at the Enterprise Boll Weevil Fall Festival. Check out the quick video that was posted on youtube. (It's on our multimedia page). Thanks Regina, you rock! Thanks to Warren Bowron for letting us participate. Thanks to all our friends (old and new) that stayed around to listen. We REALLY appreciate all of you.

I can't believe that It's been this long since I've checked in, where does the time go? For J.O.E. , it's been spent in the studio mixing and mixing and mixing etc. We are about 80% done with the new CD,and I will be soooooo glad when it is finished. Of course, we will just get started on the next one, but we have learned a whole lot since we started. I'm excited about playing live again on October 24th in downtown Enterprise at 12:30. We always have a good time at the Fall Festival. WE hope to see you there.
July 11th, 2009
Well, I've let a month and a half slip by me without updating the site. Oops. We had an interesting practice as we worked out parts and stuff for a new song that Craig and I wrote last weekend. It's a little slower than most of our stuff, but hopefully it will not put anyone to sleep.
We are still working on the mixdown and mastering of the CD project. Craig and I have spent countless hours listening to the same few songs, over and over, and hopefully it will all be worth it in the end. We really miss playing live and hope that we will soon be able to put this CD project behind us and return to the stage a little bit.
P.S. I am "a little" frustrated that it is taking so long, so keep me in your prayers.
May 21st, 2009
We spent a few hours on the 19th mixing down a couple of the tracks for the new CD. It will be a very stressful process for all of us who listen to the same track over and over and over. Hopefully we will be as pleased with the final product as we want to be. Pray for us (me) as some of us (me) are control freaks and hard headed (me again). It's almost time to start working on cover art (or photos), and coming up with a name for this CD. Suggestions are always appreciated. I hope to have some photos from our Bama Jam Battle Of The Bands on here before too long. We might be posting some snippets from the new CD before too long also. Stay tuned.
May 18th, 2009
All the tracks have been recorded for our upcoming CD and we are ready to begin mixing and mastering. WOO HOO. It will still be a few months before it is ready, but maybe by the end of summer. We are looking forward to playing in Enterprise on May 30th, at the Summerfest. I will post more details as they become available.
March 18th, 2009
Work is still progressing, as we are working on the last five songs for Craig's guitar parts. We will be back in the studio on Friday (20th) and will hopefully get another couple of tracks done.
March 7th, 2009
Okay, we are still moving forward on the CD. Yeah!!! All the music is recorded except for Craig's guitar parts, and we start on that tonight. Some of this will go fast (the rhythym guitar parts) and some will be painfully slow (the lead parts that are always be improved and reworked). After that we can start on the vocal tracks, which should go fairly quickly if we can all avoid the flu, colds, and seasonal allergies. There's nothing like the sound of congested people singing in harmony. lol
I added a LINKS page to the site this morning, so check out some of our friends and give them some web traffic. Thanks.
February 25th, 2009
Well, it's been a month since the last update, and I am very happy to report that we are over halfway done with the tracks for the new CD. Craig Buehl is doing a great job keeping us organized. My ability to be a control freak (Kim's words) and micro-manage is coming in handy. Maybe we will all still be friends when this is over. lol.
January 24th, 2009
Unthinkable as it may be, we have started recording from the ground up, again. Craig is bringing us into the digital world, and it sounds very good so far. We have narrowed the song list to only ten for this CD, so we only have to concentrate on those ten songs for now. We have recorded some tracks for the 3rd (LOL) CD, but are really just wanting to finish this one first. Tracks from the first CD will probably be re-recorded because of the new arrangements we have done for those songs. The Lord has a plan for J.O.E., so we know it will all work out in the end. Please keep us in your prayers, we need it.
January 1st, 2009
Happy New Year! I have renewed hope that we will get the new CD done this year. I know I've said that before, but we have a whole year people, come on. We hope everyone had a great Christmas and look forward to seeing you all soon. We've been off for a while, but we had a practice on December 30th
and we were able to remember much of what we thought we knew. We just keep rewriting things over and over. This would be tiring, but the songs get better every time we do.
I'm pretty sure we got some international airplay via the internet recently. Thanks go out to Phoenixradio.net for giving us a play or two.
I have been nursing a very sore throat for the last week, but managed not to mess up the church worship service too bad. I wish I could say the same for our last practice.
November 24th, 2008
We had a great time in the Lord last night at Bethel Baptist Church, in Enterprise, AL. We premiered our newest song "Back On The Wheel", which is only a few weeks old. Special thanks to Pastor Mark Cooper for inviting us.
Due to busy schedules we will be taking a couple of weeks off from practicing. We hope everyone has a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving, and as Rich's song tells us, "Thank God For Jesus". Without Gods plan of salvation we wouldn't have much to be thankful for.
November 12th, 2008
After taking a couple of practice nights off, we got in a good session last night. We started working on a new song of mine called "Back On The Wheel". It is coming together quickly, and may even be ready for our next event, which is November 23rd, 2008. We will be at my home church, Bethel Baptist Church on Park Avenue in Enterprise, AL. We start at 5:00 PM and everybody is invited.
October 27th, 2008
We were blessed with a beautiful day this past Saturday, as we played The Boll Weevil / Fall Festival in Enterprise, AL. Special thanks go out to Warren Bowron for letting us be a part of it. We had a ball, and Tim and I got some sun (LOL). It was great to see some old friends, and make some new ones.
I've been working on a new song for a couple of weeks and hopefully I will have it ready to take to the group in a few days (weeks?)(months?). Who knows. "Won't Let Go" still needs to be fully worked up, as does Rich's song "Sacrifice Of Praise". We'll get back to practicing tomorrow night and see what happens.
October 14th, 2008
We had a quick practice tonight to go over the setlist for the Enterprise Fall Festival coming uo October 25th. Our set will start about 11:00 am. Please keep Mike Bradley (our drummers dad) lifted up in prayer. He had a heart attack last weekend. He is doing fine and is already back at home, but there is still a lot of healing and diet modifications to go.
October 2nd, 2008
It's been a couple of weeks since I've checked in, so let's see if I can get us up to date. We have spent the last two practices reworking a few songs of ours that have been on the back burner for a while. "The Call" is getting a lead guitar break, and "Blow The Horns" is being updated also. "Get Up And Praise" is getting a slight overhaul, and "51" should also be back on the playlist pretty soon. Craig and I have also been working on the P.A. system, and have gotten most of the gremlins out. LOL. We are still waiting to see what time our set will be for the Enterprise Fall Festival on October 25th. We will update when we know.
September 22nd, 2008
We had a great time yesterday morning at Bethel Assembly Of God in Ariton, Al. It was a homecoming service so we tried to stay laid back and not rock out too much. We made some new friends via Myspace from folks who saw us there.
September 19th, 2008
Wow! what a busy week this has been. We now have four videos from last Saturdays gig on our multimedia page. We are trying to get ready for this weekends appearance at Bethel Assembly in Ariton. One last practice tomorrow evening and we should have it all together...I hope. Thanks to Brianna for all her work on the videos.
September 8th, 2008
We had a good practice Saturday evening, and again tonight. Tomorrow night will be our last practice before this Saturday's appearance at Headland First Assembly, in Headland, AL. Craig said that we should be on the schedule for the Enterprise Fall Festival on October 25th, 2008. We look forward to playing this event again, as it has been a couple of years since we were able to do it. We hope to get some keyboard tracks recorded in the next couple of weeks. Of course, I've been saying that for several weeks now, so we'll just have to wait and see.
September 2nd, 2006
I just got off of the phone with Jeff Downing from Bethel Assembly of God in Ariton. We are all set to play for their homecoming. It will be September 21st, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
We've been practicing hard for the last couple of nights to get ready for Headland First Assembly on the 13th. Everything is coming together nicely. We were getting kind of rusty because we were all over the place. Rich and Cindy were in Florida for a week, and then Tim, Kim, and myself were in Valdosta, GA at Wild Adventures to see Third Day. They were great as always. It was my third time to see them, but Tim had never seen them before. Anyway, we should have everything ready next weekend.
August 14th, 2008
I talked to Stacey Welch tonight and our appearance on September 13th, 2008 is still a go. It will be at Headland First Assembly, at 6:00 PM. There will be food, fun, and fellowship, so make plans to join us there. Thanks go out to Pastor Sean Morgan for letting us be a part of this event.
August 13th, 2008
We had a good practice last night, and spent a little while on "Forever Yours". I got to debut "Won't Let Go" for the guys and it looks like it will be a J.O.E. song. It's very country at the moment, so we'll just have to see how it ends up in a few weeks, as everyone adds their ideas.
August 11th, 2008
We finally got back together tonight, and we had a good practice. We added some things to "Forever Yours", and it's starting to take shape. I managed to finish laying down the bass tracks last week, so we'll be starting work on the keyboards next.
August 3rd, 2008
We are taking a few days off while Rich has houseguests from out of town. I haven't really slowed down, and have actually gotten quite a bit of recording done. Only about five songs are left, and then it will be Kim's turn to put the keyboard tracks down. I wrote a new song last week. It's called "Won't Let Go". It's about addictions and deliverance. I'm not sure if this is a J.O.E. song or not. We'll wait and see what everybody thinks, and go from there. It may end up on my solo CD (LOL).
July 26th, 2008
We are really stacking up a lot of material lately. We've still got to get Craig in on a few more older songs in our songbook, but things are really going well. Look for "Love You Lord", "Blow The Horns", and "51" to be added soon. Also, we plan on working on "Forever Yours" this week. We had to reschedule our August 9th, 2008 appearance at Headland First Assembly for September 13th, 2008.
July 19th, 2008
We had a very productive practice last night. We developed a new intro for "Delivered", we locked down the intro for "A New Way", and Craig and I started polishing "Forever Yours". I am very excited about our new songs, and am looking forward to playing them live next month. I also got a few more bass tracks recorded yesterday morning.
July 16th, 2008
On July 22nd, 2005 I said that I had finished a song called "A New Way". Well, let me be the first to admit I was wrong. I know it's hard to believe,(LOL), but that song wasn't finished until last night. I rewrote the second verse and the bridge a couple of nights ago. Everybody put in their ideas, and it's really rockin'. I can't wait to play it live. I also got started on the bass tracks, so we are making progress all the time.
July 13, 2008
We now have a video of J.O.E. in the studio on the multimedia page. We took a break in the middle of practice last night and did this. (Look for Amy in the booth over Tim's shoulder) I really wanted to get some video of us on the site, just to be sure we could make it work. We will add more as we go.
July 10th, 2008
Well, I haven't started laying down the bass tracks yet, but I did start writing a new song last night. It's pretty rockin', but, it may or may not stay that way. The working title is "Turn Around". I'll keep you posted as to any progress made.
July 5th, 2008
For all practical purposes, we finished "Delivered" last night. It will still change a little as we go, but we got the drum track recorded for the new CD, so that's pretty much got it finished. We are now set to start the overdubbing of all the rest of the instruments. The bass is first, so it's all on me now.
July 4th, 2008
Happy Independance Day.
June 25th, 2008
I changed the chorus lyric of "Delivered" to reflect the changes we made last night. There are still a couple of places in the lyrics that aren't smoothed out yet, but maybe by this weekend they will be.
June 24th, 2008
We are making a lot of progress on "Delivered", and hopefully will have it nailed down soon.
June 21st, 2008
We had a good bible study tonight and worked on "Delivered" for a little while. It is starting to take shape, but still has a way to go.
June 15th, 2008
We spent a couple of hours working on "Delivered" last night. It's the one Craig brought to me a few weeks ago. I've been modifying it here and there, and we hope to put it on the upcoming CD. I've been under the weather for a few days and so we haven't gotten much done, but we will soon be getting back to recording parts for the CD.
June 7th, 2008
We played at Hutto Park in Newton, AL this morning. Nice hot weather, but what else are we gonna have in June? It was a little too hot for some of the P.A. equipment and about 2:00 o'clock we started having problems with it all overheating. We hope it was just the heat and not something more serious (or expensive).
June 3rd, 2008
We had a good practice tonight. It was our last chance to practice before the benefit Saturday. We hope to get back to recording right away. We'll just have to see how it goes. We've been working really hard for the last few weeks and we need to work on some new songs before we start narrowing down the songs for the CD. As always, we appreciate your prayers.
June 1st, 2008
I was asked to bring the message last night at my home church (Bethel Baptist Church on Park Ave., Enterprise, AL). It was rather short notice, so I decided to stick to my strengths and minister in song. I played some new songs ("Forever Yours", and Craig's song, "Delivered") that had never been done anywhere and they were (I think) well recieved. I finished up with "Three Little Sheep", and hopefully sent them home with the tune stuck in their heads.
May 31st, 2008
Well, we had a short (but good) practice tonight. It's really hard to sing when Cindy Johannes feeds us a wonderful spaghetti dinner like she did tonight. Thanks Cindy. We had a very good bible study before dinner (Romans 5:6-11) . Thanks Rich for leading us in the lesson. We've got one more practice before next weekend, and we are looking forward to playing in Newton, AL again.
May 27th, 2008
We had a pretty good session tonight. We laid down drum tracks for 3 more songs. It's getting slower as we get into the songs that we haven't played in a while. We've been concentrating on getting Craig used to the songs we typically play and haven't had time to work on the backlog of songs that Rich and I have in reserve. It looks like there won't be as long a wait for the third CD as there has been for the second (yea...right...) I am really excited about getting some of the old ones polished up and getting the new ones ready to play.
May 25th, 2008
We had another productive recording session last night. We now have the drum tracks for 15 songs recorded, and it now looks like we may only have a few more to record before we are finished with this stage. We are having to hurry because we have a gig on June 7th, and we will have to disassemble the studio in order to play live again. As long as we are finished with the drum parts it will all work out. I also have been working on a new song that Craig has written. Even though I changed it around a bit, Craig seems happy with the direction it is going. It would be great to get Craig's new song and "Forever Yours" ready for recording, but these things usually take us a little while to get arranged and orchestrated. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
May 22nd, 2008
We just finished taping our first (and hopefully not our last) television appearance. We will be on "the Ann Varnum Show" on WTVY TV4 on June 8th, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. We did a short interview and an unplugged version of "This I Know". Be sure to check it out and let us know how we looked (lol). We would like to send out a very special "Thank You" to Ann Varnum for having us on and making our first time in a television studio as stress-free as possible. We really appreciate it.
May 20th, 2008
We had a good recording session this evening. We've got the drum parts recorded for nine songs, now. We will probably try to get twenty or thirty songs to this same stage before we start overdubbing the rest of the instruments and vocals. I finally got the multimedia page to have working video. Hopefully, we will have some J.O.E. video within a few weeks.
May 18th, 2008
Well, I couldn't have planned a better first entry to this page than this. Tonight, I started and finished writing a song that I'd been wanting to write for at least a couple of years. Kimberly mentioned back in 2006 that she wanted to sing something pretty , instead of the rockers that we foist on her. Well, tonight after church, I was sitting at the piano and it just started coming out. Praise God! It's called "Forever Yours". It's so awesome when God moves like this, because even though it was through me, it wasn't from me. I know, without a doubt, that it will be a blessing to someone, someday. It already has been for me.
Also, we started recording tracks for our upcoming CD project (again) last night. The results have me more optimistic than ever. All in all, an awesome weekend. To God be the glory.
